"It's never too late to be what you might have been"
We think George Eliot would have appreciated our Intensive Outpatient Program
As The Counseling Center at Freehold Community Relations Representative, I attended the Marlboro Township Alliancefor the Prevention of Substance Abuse April 11th meeting and updated participants with details of The Counseling Center's new Adolescent IOP program. This program is an important new resource for community youth and their families dealing with substance abuse problems.
The Marlboro Alliance acts as a catalyst within the community, and helps raise public awareness about substance abuse issues. Membership is made up of a wide range of representatives from within the Marlboro community including residents, government agency representatives, business people and health care professionals. The Alliance sponsors many activities that promote healthy, drug and alcohol free activities for Marlboro’s youth.
The Counseling Center's 3 day a week intensive after school program for adolescents allows clients to remain in the community, live with their families, and attend school while at the same time getting their personal lives back on track along a path to recovery. Family participation is an important component of this program and is required. The Counseling Center will pick clients up from school and transport them to TCC but an adult must accompany the client when he or she leaves at the end of the session.
