The Counseling Center will be in Palm Beach, Florida Sept 26

Representatives of The Counseling Center will attend the 2016 Moments of Change conference in Palm Beach, Florida September 26-29, at The Breakers resort.

Moments of Change is a well respected and important annual conference of treatment professionals and those working in the business of advocating for, securing, and providing the much-needed treatment services addressing addiction, substance abuse, and behavioral health.

Outreach professionals from The Counseling Center will be on-hand during the conference, representing New Jersey and New York (Westchester County) after care options, including Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP), Outpatient substance abuse treatment, coordinated mental health and behavioral health, individual and group counseling, and the unique award-winning integration of 12 step and state of the art behavioral therapies offered at the 5 local outpatient centers in New Jersey and Westchester county.

About Moments of Change: The Moments of Change conference spans three days and will cover a wide variety of topics. Attendees will leave with important insights into behavioral therapy and the process of treating substance abuse issues:

  • Effectively identify the best methods for intervening on unwilling and resistant patients as well as strategies for encouraging cohesive family engagement.
  • Utilize services for initiating, supporting and maintaining continued sobriety.
  • Become familiar with new treatment modalities and scientific research being used to further the success of behavioral healthcare treatment/therapy.
  • Determine the most effective approaches and methods of treatment when dealing with patients who have faced traumatic experiences.
  • Determine the best treatment and care planning methods for dealing with complex individuals and diagnoses, such as process addictions, co-occurring disorders and mental health disorders.
  • Explain how the most relevant topics are impacting behavioral healthcare, such as legislation, zoning, the expansion of the industry and the debate over abstinence-based treatment vs. medically-assisted treatment.
  • Discuss emerging substances of abuse and effective methods for treating and controlling the use of these drugs.
